Through this section we understand our customers and attempt to convey that how newspaper as a medium has aided their purpose or need for advertising.
The Solar Energy sector in India is at its peak when it comes to development and supply-demand growth. As a result of growing climate and energy preservation consciousness of people, the demand for solar energy resources are increasing at a very fast pace across India. Several MN Cs, SMEs and even housing communities and individual households are inclined towards the use of Solar Power resources. Mr. J. William, the director of Thrive Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd. is a keen supporter of using newspaper as a medium for appointing able and sincere candidates in the organisation.
He tells us more about newspaper as a medium of advertising in the following Question and Answer session.
Q. Can you describe the nature of your business or work?
A. Thrive Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd. is among the most renowned organisations across India, manufacturing and providing Solar energy modules, lights, appliances, panels and all the products and services associated with solar power. We supply these resources and appliances to several office buildings, housing complexes and also to several households based on the requirement.
Q. Why did you advertise in a newspaper?
A. Well, we mainly advertised for the purpose of recruitment. We had several positions open in our organisation as it is a developing organisation, so we had to invite applicants from across India for different branches. Several vacancies keep coming up in the organisation from different locations and to reach out to local candidates, regional English and regional language newspapers are quite resourceful.
Q. What kind of applicants were you looking for?
A. We didn’t have any specific academic requirements except that the candidates should be a graduate and possess good communication skills. Mainly, we intended to target local job seekers for our as well as their convenience. Usually local employees can easily travel and are aware of their surroundings more than relocated candidates.
Q. Was Newspaper Advertising effective enough? Would you like to place newspaper ads in future?
A. The responses received through the newspaper recruitment adverts varied from place to place. For example, we got many good candidates from several cities of Uttar Pradesh and even Hyderabad provided good responses. But not all the cities had similar response rates from candidates. Though the people we hired from UP and Hyderabad were excellent and are still employed with us.
As far as newspaper ads are concerned, we still publish ads in various newspapers across India, but more for promotional purposes than for recruitment. But surely newspaper is a terrific medium for promotions and appointing employees in certain areas.
Q. Why did you choose to book your newspaper ads through the internet or a website such as releaseMyAd?
A. To be honest, placing classified adverts in newspapers through an online portal was much more conveneient and saved a lot of time. We didn’t have to look for booking agents and unnecessarily probe them or run after them to get our work done. It was much simpler to book simple classified adverts through a website like
